 jane iredale Purelash Black Onyx Mascara has been named the best mascara in the prestigious Nature & Health Beauty Awards.

With 150 beauty products considered for the annual awards, Purelash was recognised as being the most natural and beneficial mascara. Meeting the award’s strict ‘organic’ criteria was only one element; each product had to win the approval of the consumer in achieving desirable beauty results.

Now in its third year, the Nature & Health Natural Beauty Awards are unique in the industry seeking out products that combine the glam and the good-for-you. Led by Nature & Health Beauty Editor Helene Larson the products have to meet strict criteria, containing the cleanest, healthiest ingredients.

To qualify for the Nature and Health Beauty Awards, products had to comply with the following criteria to be considered ‘natural’:

• No added paraben preservatives

• Free from artificial fragrances

• Free from synthetic colours

• Free from sulphate cleansers

• No product tested on animals

• No ingredient tested on animals (according to the five-year rolling rule)
